Chairman : S. Joginder Singh Johal

A successful businessman, Sardar Joginder Singh Johal does not need any introduction in the eastern part of India. His outstanding contribution in public life and social work make him eminently popular among the intelligentsia. He has been the President of the famous Guru Nanak College Dhanbad for nearly thirty years. And under his guidance, the College has attained great heights. As President of the Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, he revived the tradition of organising Sadbhavana Diwas Samaroh after the riots of 1984, which continues to this date.
He has successfully organised two conferences of Punjabi language in collaboration with the Punjabi University, Patiala in Kolkata and Dhanbad. Lately his association with the Komagata Maru Committee has given strength to the mission. He is the Trustee Chairman of the Komagata Maru Martyrs Memorial Trust and has helped organise the presentation of the famous play Komagata Maru at four places- Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur, Jamshedpur and Dhanbad successfully. He supports education of fifty poor students through the memorial foundation in the name of his late father Sardar Darbara Singh, a popular leader and Ex. Chief Minister of Punjab.
Gurdwara Prabandhak Commitee has felicitated him for his contribution in strengthening the bond of love, faith and mutual trust among not only various Sikh organisations but between Punjabi and Bengali too. He is the doyen among the Sikh citizens of Dhanbad and Kolkata having been associated with the cultural and intellectual activities of the society.
S. Joginder Singh Johal went to his heavenly abode on the 28th October, 2021 at his Chandigarh residence.
